| Beho Beho Beho Beho is perched on the slopes of Namikwera Hill to the northwest of Lake Tagalala in the Selous Game Reserve. This is the only Selous lodge not on the river; however all the spacious verandas have panoramic views over the meandering Rufiji and it’s game-filled flood plain. Beho Beho was the first lodge in the Selous Game Reserve built in the early seventies and is at the heart of the greatest wildlife concentrations, especially during the dry season when water is scarce and wildlife congregates at the lakeshore. The lodge has always had a great reputation for offering a true African safari experience; with a variety of activities including walking, boating and vehicles safaris. The camp has 8 individual, very spacious Bandas, (stone built and palm thatched cottages) furnished with king-sized beds, Zanzibari day beds, writing desks and comfortable furniture. The front of the banda is completely open and extends on to a spacious verandah. The banda can be secured for the night with tented curtains or left open as desired. Each banda has a separate dressing room leading into an en suite bathroom with twin basins, high flush WC and an open-air shower. |

Sand Rivers Selous is the base for some of Tanzania's best safari guides who are there to take you out for daily adventures; boating on the Rufiji, weaving past hippopotamus and crocodile; driving on the trail of lion or wild dog; an elephant bush walk; a night sleeping out under the stars, or fishing in solitude, barefoot on a river rock. |
